    Getting started Telephone installation If you subscribe to high-speed Internet service (digital subscriber line - DSL) through your telephone line, you must install a DSL filter between the telephone line cord and the telephone wall jack. The filter prevents noise and caller ID problems caused by DSL interference.

    Getting started Installation options The telephone base comes with the bracket attached for tabletop use. If you want to mount your telephone on a wall, use the provided mounting bracket to connect with a standard dual-stud telephone wall-mounting plate. If you do not have this mounting plate, you can purchase one from many hardware or consumer electronic retailers.

Unplug the large end of the power adapter from the electrical outlet. Unplug the small end of the power adapter from the POWER jack on the back of the telephone base.

Chain dialing is useful if you need to access numbers other than telephone numbers (such as bank account numbers or access codes) from one-touch memory locations, speed dial memory locations, directory or call history.

Directory entries are stored in alphabetical order.
