Recording

This section explains how to specify a recording media folder for a recording file and to record into that folder.
The procedure for recording to an SD card and a USB drive is the same.
Power switch
KEYBOARD
Selecting a folder to store recorded
files

Press the power switch.
The power of DN-F650R is switched ON and the power
indicator lights blue.

While the DN-F650R is stopped, press

The folder list is displayed.
For details on how to display the folder list, see "Displaying the
File Menu (Preparation)" (vpage 22).
• To change the recording media, display the recording media list and
then select the recording media.
• For details on the recording media list display and how to select
items, see "Storage menu" (vpage 25).

Rotate the jog dial to select the folder in which you
want to save the recording file, and press the jog dial.
• To save a recorded file in a newly created folder, see "Creating
folders (2 Make Folder)" (vpage 24).

Select "01 Select" in the folder list menu, and rotate
the jog dial.

• Choose the folder in which to store the recorded file, and display
the file list of that folder.

NOTE
To record on an SD card, be sure to format it on DN-F650R before
recording. If the SD card is formatted on a computer or is used for
recording without formatting it, this could result in sound cutoffs
during recording. For details on the formatting procedure, see "03
Media Format" (vpage 14).

Adjust the recording level using
• To adjust the recording level, change "07 LevelCont" in the preset
menu to "Manual".
• When you adjust the recording level, make sure that the peak level
is not 0dB by monitoring the level meter and level over display
(LEVEL).
• When "07 LevelCont." in the preset menu is set to "ALC", or when
"02 Input" is set to "SPDIF" or "AES/EBU", the

to adjust the recording balance.
• To adjust the recording balance, set "LevelCont" in the preset
menu to "Manual".

is pressed, the R (right) volume decreases by 1dB.

• This setting is maintained after the power is switched off.
• When the pre-recording adjustments are completed, stop the
source playback, and playback the recording source again from the
start.
• You cannot adjust REC LEVEL when "ALC" is set for "07 LevelCont"
in the preset menu or "SPDIF" or "AES/EBU" is set for "02 Input".
