Details on procedure for handling error messages
Error message
Door Open
• The SD card door has been left open. Close the SD card door or
press the jog dial to clear the error message.
No Media
• Cannot detect a recording media. Set the recording media again.
Unformat
• A file is recorded using an unsupported format. Format a media on
DN-F650R or set the format to FAT16 or FAT32. For details, see
the operation instructions of the recording media.
Full Media
• The remaining space on a recording media is running low. Replace
the recording media with a new one or delete files that are no
longer required.
Full 999
• The maximum number of files (999 files) has been stored. Change
a folder to store the recording files or delete files that are no longer
required.
Full MARK
• The maximum number of marks (30 marks) has been set, and a
new mark cannot be added. To add a mark, delete marks.
Full Folder
• The maximum number of folders (32 folders) has been created,
and a new folder cannot be created. To create a folder, delete other
folders.
No File
• A target file is not found. Confirm whether the file exists.
No MARK
• A target mark is not found. To search for a mark, add a mark.
No Signal
• No signals sent from an external device are detected for SPDIF or
AES/EBU recording.
Fs Mismatch
• Fs (sampling frequency) of DN-F650R and Fs of external device are
different for SPDIF or AES/EBU recording. Use the preset menu to
set Fs same as that of the external device.
ALC
• This error message appears when "ALC" is set for "07 LevelCont"
in the preset menu. In that case, the recording level and recording
balance cannot be adjusted. To adjust the recording level, change
"07 LevelCont" to "Manual".
VBR
• This error message appears when a VBR file search is performed.
Search cannot be performed on VBR files. The remaining time of a
file is not displayed either.
Already Exists
• A file with the same file name already exists. Change the file name
and then press the jog dial to enter the data.
Long Title
• A file with a file name consisting of 253 characters cannot be
divided. Rename the file and then divide the file.
Key Locked
• Key lock is activated. To operate DN-F650R, cancel the lock.
Card Locked
• The SD card protection switch has been set to lock. To perform a
recording, cancel SD card protection.

• You are attempting to delete a file assigned for hot start. To delete
this file, cancel the assigned hot start by re-assigning another file
for hot start.

Can not...
• This error message appears when an invalid operation is performed.

The operation may become invalid because of other setting items
such as the preset menu, so check the contents of the operation.
Err Format
• Format a media on DN-F650R or set the format to FAT16 or

Err Media X
• This recording media is not compatible with DN-F650R. Replace it

Update File Error
• Error in upgrading a file or file system.
