This is the process to auto-upgrade firmware on the 9600IP:
Plug a phone in to one or multiple ports of the 24-port POE switch connected to the PC
running DHCP/TFTP (tftpd32.exe)
Wait for the warble tone (doodle doodle)
Press 3333 # to get config file from DHCP/TFTP (Option 66 Configured in TFTPD32
program)
This 3333.3300ip.txt config file has the firmware for Dec 3 2008 –
The phone will navigate to the TFTP server (as specified in Auto Image Server) and
download the firmware (as specified in Auto Image Name)
The phone will reboot and after securing another IP address the warbling tone begins
again (notifying the tester that a config file number should be entered)
That is the configuration in which the phones should go out the door. The warbling
tone prompt must be present for installers in the field.
