General Inspection Prior to Operation
Ground Power Tools
When using power tools or electrical equipment requireing AC
power from the generator, make sure connecting (power tool)
cable (Figure 7) has a ground as shown in Figure.

GDP-5H — PRE-INSPECTION
Extension Cable
When electric power is to be provided to various tools or loads at
some distance from the generator, extension cords are normally
used. Cables should be sized to allow for distance in length and
amperage so that the voltage drop between the generator and
point of use (load) is held to a minimum. Use the cable selection
chart (Tables 4 and 5) as a guide for selecting proper cable size.
NOTE
60 and 180 Hz Circuit Breakers
To protect the generator from an overload, circuit breakers are
provided for both 60 and 180 Hz operation. Make sure to switch
the these circuit breakers to the "OFF" position prior to starting
the engine.
