Note: Place the heat sink on its side so that the thermal grease on the bottom of it does not get in
contact with anything.
7. Remove the microprocessor. See "Replacing the microprocessor" on page 94.
8. Remove the memory modules. See "Installing or replacing a memory module" on page 87.
9. Remove the heat sink and fan assembly for GPU if your computer has one. See "Replacing the heat
sink and fan assembly for GPU" on page 111.
10. Remove the card reader if your computer has one. See "Replacing the card reader" on page 107.
11. Remove the ExpressCard if your computer has one. See "Replacing the ExpressCard" on page 110.
12. Remove the WiFi card if your computer has one. See "Replacing the WiFi card" on page 105.
13. Note the locations of all cables connected to the system board and disconnect all cables. See "Locating

14. Follow the sequence to remove the screws
carefully lift the system board out of the chassis.
