Note: The WiFi antennas are available only in some models.
To replace the WiFi antennas, do the following:
1. Remove all media from the drives and turn off all attached devices and the computer. Then, disconnect
all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the computer.
2. Place a soft, clean towel or cloth on the desk or surface. Hold the sides of your computer and gently lay
it down so that the screen is against the surface and the cover is facing up.
3. Remove the computer cover. See "Removing the computer cover" on page 84.
4. Remove the rear I/O assembly. See "Removing and reinstalling the rear I/O assembly" on page 86.
5. Locate the WiFi antennas and the WiFi card. See "Locating major FRUs and CRUs" on page 71.
6. Note the cable routing of the WiFi antennas and disconnect the WiFi antennas cables from the WiFi
card. Then, remove the WiFi antennas from the chassis.
7. Peel off the paper that protects the stickers on the new WiFi antennas.

8. Note the length of the new WiFi antennas cables and stick the new WiFi antennas to the chassis as
shown. Then, connect the two cables of the new WiFi antennas to the WiFi card.
