TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM
Engine does not start
Engine misfi res
The engine does not

CAUSE
- Fuel system clogged (fuel lines, fuel
tank, fuel cock)
- Air fi lter dirty
- No current supplied to spark plug
- Engine fl ooded
- Excessive distance between the electrodes
- Ignition connector or coil slackened or oxidized
- Presence of water in the carburetor
- Spark gap wrongly adjusted
- Spark plug dirty
- Idling air jet clogged
- Adjustment screws poorly adjusted
- Faulty spark plug
- Faulty ignition system
- Silencer partly clogged
- Laminar pack damaged
- Fault in the ignition system
- Brake pads worn
- Air or humidity in the hydraulic circuit
- Brake pads worn
- Air or humidity in the hydraulic
circuit

REMEDY
Clean the system
Check the air fi lter
Clean or replace the spark plug.
If the problem persists, contact a
BETAMOTOR dealer
Operate the start-up pedal 5-10 times
or the electrical starter pushbutton 2
times every 5 seconds. If the vehicle
does not start, remove and dry the spark
plug
Check the distance between the electrodes
Clean with a spray product for electric contacts and tighten
Empty the carburetor tank
Restore the spark gap
Clean or replace the spark plug
Check and clean the carburetor air jets
Adjust
Replace the spark plug
Check the coil and the spark plug cap
