Selecting programmes to play

[HDD] [RAM] [DVD-R]
A list of programmes is created as you record them. You can use
this list to find the programmes you want to watch.
≥The lists of programmes recorded in the HDD and the DVD are
displayed separately. It is necessary to select the playback drive
(HDD/DVD) you wish.
Preparation
≥Switch [DVD, TV] (15) to "DVD".
≥For the HDD:
Confirm that something has been recorded on the HDD.
For the disc:
Insert a disc that has been recorded on.

Press [HDD] or [DVD] (6) to select the playback
drive.

Press [DIRECT NAVIGATOR]
≥The programme list appears.
≥The images for the currently highlighted list are played in the
background.

≥Play of the images that were playing in the background
continues.
≥You can also select programmes by entering a 3-digit (HDD)/
2-digit (DVD-RAM/DVD-R) number with the numeric buttons
(4).
If you enter a number larger than the total number of
programmes, the last programme is selected.

b) Write-protected (page 45):
≥Displayed when you have protected the programme.
Programme 1 has been protected in the example.
Copy-protected:
≥Displayed when you have recorded a programme that has
copy protection, from broadcast.
N/P (N: NTSC, P:PAL):
Displayed when you recorded using a different encoding
system from that of the TV system currently selected on the
unit.
≥To play back a programme recorded using a different
encoding system from that of the TV system currently
selected, alter the TV system setting on this unit to suit
(page 75).
Unable to play: X
≥Displayed if you cannot play the programme.
Currently recording:
≥Displayed when the programme is being recorded.
Recorded on the HDD since there is no disc in the tray or
there is not sufficient empty space for recording on the
disc (Relief Recording) [HDD]:
Programmes that are permitted to be recorded only once
[HDD]:

≥If there are more than six programmes, you can move down
the list by using [3, 4] (10) and this bar shows your
approximate position in the list.
d) Total number of programmes
≥Shows the total number of programmes.
e) Sub menu
≥Displayed when you use [1] (10). (You can see this during
simultaneous recording and play but you are unable to
perform operations.)
≥Erase a programme (page 44).
≥Enter or edit a title (page 44).
≥Check a programme's contents (page 44).
≥Write-protect a programme (page 45).
≥Erase part of a programme (page 46).
≥Divide a selected programme into two (page 47).
For your reference
≥The list can show up to 250 programmes on HDD, 99 on one disc
that you have recorded.
≥When using DVD-R, "Protection", "Partial Erase" and "Divide" are
not displayed in the submenu.
≥The contents of the list are recorded on the disc.
≥[RAM]
When the disc is protected (pages 39, 87), you can only access
"Properties". Release the protection to access other items.
≥[HDD] [RAM]
When the programme is protected (page 45), you can only
access "Properties" and "Protection". Release the protection to
access other items.
