Relief Recording

When the recording drive is set to "DVD" for timer recording the
unit will automatically evaluate if the programme will fit onto the
disc before beginning recording. If the programme will not fit then
the recording drive will be altered to HDD automatically.
≥If the space remaining on the HDD is insufficient, as much of the
programme as possible will be recorded onto the HDD.
≥If there is no disc in the tray or the disc cannot be recorded on,
the recording drive will be altered to HDD.
≥The recording mode will not be altered.
≥You may check which programmes have been recorded by
referring to the programme list in Direct Navigatior (page 43).
≥Relief recording is not activated when recording with VPS/PDC
and the programme is extended so that it no longer fits on the
disc.

Auto Renewal Recording

[HDD]
If you record a programme onto HDD repeatedly everyday or every
week using timer recording, the unit will record the new programme
over the old one.
This function can be used only when weekly recording or
daily recording is selected for "Date".
1) While the timer recording list
is displayed
Use [3, 4] (10) to select
the programme and press
[ENTER] (10).
2) Use [2, 1] (10) to select
"RENEW"
3) Use [3, 4] (10) to select
"ON" and press [ENTER]
(10).
≥The timer recording list reappears.
Note
≥If a programme set for auto renewal recording is write protected
(page 45), the programme will not be over written. Instead the
programme set for recording will be saved as a separate
programme, and this programme will be the one to be overwritten
when the next Auto Renewal Recording takes place.
≥When play back is taking place from the HDD, Auto Renewal
Recording will not be carried out. The programme supposed to
be auto renewal recorded will be recorded as a separate
programme.
≥Play list scenes made from programmes that were set for Auto
Renewal Recording are erased along with auto renewal.
≥When there is not enough space on the HDD, the programme
may not be recorded completely (even if repeating a renewal
recording).
