Information about SD Memory Cards
Be absolutely certain to read the
following instructions about format-
ting and handling the memory card provided
inordertopreventmalfunctionsduringimage
acquisition.
Leica IC80 HD
File system and formatting
SothattheSDcardworkscorrectlyandisdetec-
tedbytheLeicaIC80HD,ithastousethe"FAT"
file system. Most memory cards are factory-
formatted with FAT so that they can be used
immediately.
An SD card cannot be formatted in the Leica
IC80 HD. If it is necessary to format the card,
use a computer to do so.You can also delete
thefilesonthecardinanydigitalcamerathat
works with SD cards. During the deletion, the
FATfilesystemisinstalledautomatically.
Capacity
SDcardsofclass4and6canbeusedwiththe
camera. Also so called SDHC (high capacity)
cardswithupto32GBmemoryaresupported.

Write protection
Some SD memory cards are equipped
with a slide for write protection. If the
slide is pressed down, no new images can be
saved.Inaddition,existingimagesareprotec-
tedfrombeingdeleted.
If you cannot save any more images to the
SD card, check to make certain that the write
protectionisdisabled.
Orientation
Make sure that the memory card is
oriented correctly before inserting it
into the camera. If you accidentally insert the
cardthewrongwayaround,thiscoulddamage
thecamera.
