8 Troubleshooting

This chapter describes what to do out in case of malfunction.

Problems with the S130

Displays if there is a hardware error
Carrying out a system dump
Measures to take if there is an I/O processor failure
Measures to take if there is a processing computer failure
Problems with the service/console processor (SKP)
8.1 Problems with the S130
In the case of a problem with the S130, contact the service department and discuss the
steps to be taken. Depending on the outcome of this discussion, you may be required to
carry out the following tasks:
Take a system dump in the case of an inexplicable system failure.
Disable defective I/O processors if several I/O processors are available.
You can continue processing with the rest of the system.
Disable defective processing units, if several are available.
You can continue processing with the rest of the system.
If one of the MCU, SVP, SCI, SPC, or PCI system components is defective, contact the
service department.
