5. Recording
When you record on the MR‐2, date and time information is automati‐
cally added to the file so that you can manage your projects more easily.
If you set the date and time on the MR‐2 (see page 31), the correct
date and time information will be added to the file. However, If you
remove the batteries or if the batteries in the unit have been
exhausted for a while (about three days) after you set the date and
time, the internal clock will be reset to the default setting.
Selecting the input source
In addition to using the built‐in microphone for convenient recording, you
can record use a commercially‐available external microphone. Alternatively,
you can connect high output level devices, such as keyboards or audio
equipment, and record them.
This section explains how to record via the built‐in microphone.
Adjusting the direction of the built-in microphone
You can adjust the angle of the built‐in directional microphone so that
it will point to the targeted recording source. Refer to the figure below
to change its angle in eight 30‐degree steps.
Adjust the microphone angle in accordance with the location and posi‐
tion of the recorder and targeted recording source.
