Configuring VLANs over failover groups

You can improve the availability of VLANs by configuring VLANs over a failover group. To
ensure success, each port (or link aggregate) used in the failover group must be tagged with the
IDs of the VLANs to be created over it. Before creating the failover group, you must decide the
ports to include in the failover group.
Figure D-2 (page 107)
lan901 as the active port with ports lan5 and lan6 as the standby ports. To protect against
switch failures, link aggregate lan901 is connected through Switch 1, and ports lan5 and lan6
are connected to Switch 2. Switches 1 and 2 are connected to each other as well as the outgoing
network. Two VLANs, with IDs 333 and 334, operate over failover group lan902.
