NOTE: Oncethe desiredpositionis achieved,lift up and downon the
steeringwheelto makesureit locksintoplaceand the button (a) on
the steeringcolumn releasesintoa lockedposition.Donot operatethis
unit unlessthe steeringcolumnis in a lockedposition.
INSTALL THE REAR ENGINE COVER
1. Installthe rear enginecoverby positioningit in placeas shown
in Figure9. Tipthe enginecoverforwardto fit it intothe slots
provided,then rotateit backwards to alignthe mountingholes.
2. Securethecover with thetwo screwsincludedin the hardware
pack. Donot over-tighten.

INSTALLING THE DECK CHUTE
NEVERoperatethis tractorwithouteitherthe mulchplug or deck
chute installed.
1. Removethe wing knobinstalledon the mowingdeck and retain
for laterinstallation.
2. Installthedeck chute assemblyby insertingthetwo pegson the
bottomof the deck chute intothe lock-holeson the mowerdeck.
Slidethe deck chute assemblyrearwardto lock into place,being
sureto engagethe safetyinterlockswitch.
3. Reinstall t hewingknoband hand-tighten to secure.See3. Reinstall
thewingknobandhand-tighten to secure.See Figure8.8.

1. Removethe two screwsas shownin Fig. 10.
2. Positionthe bumperoverthe mountingholesand secureusing
the hardwareremovedin Step1,as shown in Fig. 10.
