Checking TirePressure
Neveroperate the mowerdeckwithoutthe chutedeflectorinstalled and in
the down position.
Thedischarge c hutedeflectormustbe installed b eforeoperating the mower.
1.
Remove t he keysthat areattached with aziptie to thechutebracket.
2.
Remove t he flangelocknutsfromthe deck.Donot remove the pushnuts
or carriage bolts,leavingthemin place will aidin installing t he chute.See
Figure 6.

Installthe discharge chutedeflectorusingthe carriage bolts,pushnutsand
flangelocknutsasshownin Figure 7andsecurely tighten the hardware.

Donot overinflate tires,Checksidewallof tires for maximum psi.Equal t ire
pressureshouldbe maintained at all times.
The tiresonyourridingmowermaybeoverinflated f orshipping p urposes. Reduce the
tire pressure b efore operating theridingmower. Check s idewall oftiresformaximum psi.
Adjusting the GaugeWheels
Keephandsandfeet awayfrom the dischargeopeningof the cuttingdeck.
NOTE: Thedeckgaugewheels areananti-scalp featureof the deckandarenot
designed to supportthe weightof the cuttingdeck.
Themowerdeckcuttingheightcanbesetinanyof sixheightsettingsusingthe
riding mower's decklift handle.Thedeckheightsrangefrom 1-1_ " to 4".Thedeck
gaugewheelpositionshouldbeapproximately %"to _" above the groundwhen
the deckissetinthe desired heightsetting.
Using the lift handle, s etthe deckin the desired heightsetting,thencheck the
gaugewheeldistance from the groundbelow.Ifnecessary a djustasfollows:
1.
Visuallycheck the distance betweenthefront gaugewheelandthe ground.
Ifthe gaugewheelisnearor touchingthe ground,itshouldberaised.If
morethan_A" above the ground,it shouldbelowered.
2.
Remove t he flangelocknut securing the front gaugewheelshoulder b olt to
the deck.Remove t hegaugewheelandshoulder bolt. Referto Figure 8.

Insertthe shoulder boltinto the oneof fourindexholesin thefront gauge
wheelbracketthatwill givethe gaugewheela%"to _A" clearance w ith the
groundandsecure with the flangelocknut.
4.
Notethe indexholeof thejust adjusted wheel,andadjustthe reargauge
wheelinto the respective indexholesof theothergauge wheel bracket o n
the deck.
