Usingthe lower ovenprobe.
For many foods, especially roasts and poultry, internal food temperature is the best test for doneness.
The temperature probe takes the guesswork out of roasting by cooking foods to the exact doneness you want.
The temperature
probe has a
skewer-like
probe at one end and a
plug at the other end that goes into
the outlet
in the oven,
NOTE:Theprobe is foruse in the lower oven
only

Use the handles of the probe and plug
when inserting and removing them fi'om
the meat and outlet.
Toavoiddamagingyourprobe, donotuse
tongstopull on thecablewhenremoving it,
Toavoid breaking the probe, makesure food is
completelydefrosted before inserting,
Toprevent possible burns,do not unplug the
probe from the outlet until the ovenhas
cooled,
Never leaveyourprobe insidetheovenduring
a self-cleaning c ycle,
Donot store the probe in the cooking center
After preparing
the meat and placing it
on a trivet or on d_e broiler pan _'id,
follow these directions for proper probe
placement.

Lay the probe on the out.side of the
meat along the top or side and mark
with your finger where the edge of
the meat comes m on the probe. The
point shouM rest in the center of the
thickest lneab_ part of the roast.

Insert tim probe completely into tim
meat. It should not touch the bone,
f>ttor gristle.
For roasts _4th no bone, insert the probe
into the lneatiest part of tim roast. For
bone-in ham or lamb, insert the probe
into the center of the lowest large muscle
or joint.
Insert the probe into tim center of dishes
such as meat loaf or casseroles. When
cooking fish, insert the probe fi'olnjust
above the _11 into the meatiest area,
parallel to the backbone.
Insert the probe into tim meatiest part of
the inner tlfigh from below and parallel
to the leg of a whole turkey.

How to Set the Oven For Roasting When Using the Probe

Insert tim probe
into tim meat.
Plug the probe
into the outlet in the
oven. Make sure it's pushed
all tim
way in. Close tim oven door.
Press the PROBE
pad.
_-] Press the number pads to set tim
desired internal fbod or meat
temperature.
[ff] Press the BAKEpad.
_-] Press the number pads to set the
desired oven temperature.
[7] Press the START pad.
Thedisplay will flashif theprobeisinserted into
theoutletandyouhavenotset a probe
temperature a ndpressed theSTARTpacZ
When the oven start_sto heat, tim word tO
will be in tile display.
After tim internal temperature
of tim meat
reaches 100°F., tile chan@ng internal
temperature
will be shown in the display.
When tim internal temperature
of tim
meat reaches the number you hm_e
set, the probe and the oven mrn off
and the oven control signals. To stop
the signal, press the CtEAPJOFFpad.
Use hot pads to relnove the probe
fi'om the food. Do not use rungs to
pull on it-they might damage it.
To change tile oven temperature
during
the Roast Q,cle, press the BAKEpad and
then the number pads to set the new
telnperamre.
If theprobeisremoved fromthefoodbefore
thefinaltemperature i s reached, a tonewill
sound andthe display will flashuntil theprobe
isremoved fromtheoven,
Youcan use the timer eventhoughyou cannot
use timed ovenoperations,
