Safety rule checklist
Operator
Is fully instructed in use of the power cutter.
Has read and fully understands the safety manual and this
operator's manual.
Is not tired, under stress or under the influence of any medicine,
drug or alcoholic beverage.
Do not operate alone in case of accident.
Operator is wearing all necessary personal protective clothing
and equipment.
Preparation for use
The power cutter is not modified.
Driveshaft undamaged.
Cutter wheel
Wheel checked for damage.
Mounted correctly.
Cutter wheel guard
In place.
Mounted correctly.
Undamaged.
Belt and covers
Belt tension OK.
Covers in place.
Undamaged.
Handles
Tight, clean.
Vibration elements
Undamaged.
Air filter
Clean.
Cooling passages
Clean.
Power head, cutting arm
Good condition.
Fasteners tight.
Care of cutter wheels
All cutter wheels are breakable and, therefore, care shall be
exercised in their handling and storage to prevent damage.
Immediately after unpacking, all wheels shall be closely
inspected to make certain that they have not been damaged
from handling, shipping or other causes.
Abrasive wheels should be laid flat on a flat surface away
from excessive heat or moisture. They should not be stored
subject to: exposure to high humidity, water, other liquids, or
freezing temperatures, wheels used on machines on emer-
gency vehicles should be dismounted after use and discared
or carefully stored as described in this section.
Operation
Before start
Controls work smoothly and correctly.
Tank filled min. 3 m (10 feet) away from cutting site.
Be careful when handling with fuel. Petrol (gasoline) and
petrolfumes are extremely explosive.
Be aware of fire-, explosion- and inhalation hazards.
Tank filled with correct fuel mix.
Fuel spill wiped up.
No fuel leaks.
Area clear of all objects.
No one near the power cutter.
Starting
Power cutter held firmly.
Cutter wheel not touching anything.
Operator in balance, footing is sound.
Controls all work correctly.
Cutter wheel not rotating on idling speed.
Cutting
Operator in balance, footing is sound.
Cutter wheel is not vibrating.
Cut at wide open throttle
Avoid pinching of cutter wheel
Move the wheel forwards and backwards in the cut to obtain
good conduction of heat away from the wheel.
Cutting in well ventilated area.
Cutting away from combustible material or fumes.
Saw turned off when carried.
Care/storage
Wheel removed.
Power cutter serviced according to maintenance scheme.
