could more fully enjoy viewing television.
Howew_r,
closed captioning
can be used in other ways, such as:
• helping
children
learn to read,
• learning
a foreign
language,
and
• using the television
without
disturbing
otlhers.
If you cannot
display
any captions
on the screen,
please
keep in
mind that not all broadcasters,
video tapes, or laserdiscs
supply
closed caption
signals.
Additionally,
captions
might not appear:
• if you play a video tape that
is; worn or deter!_orated;
• if you play a laserdisc
in still or search
mode; or
• if you play a video tape in search,
slow mol;ion, or still picLure
modes.
