EXCESSIVE SMOKING
POSSIBLE CAUSE
• Oven controls not properly set. See the Broiling section
• Oven door not closed,
• improper shelf position being used_ See the Broiling section
• Food is being cooked on a hot pan_
• Cookware is not suited for broiling
• Aluminum foil used on the broiler pan grid has not been fitted properly
and slit as recommended
• Oven bottom not securely seated in position. See the installation Instructions section
• Oven temperature is too high to set self-cleaning operation
Allow the range to cool to room temperature and reset the controls
° Oven controls not properly set. See the Using the Self Cleaning Oven section
• Door latch handle not moved all the way to the right.
• Oven controls not set properly See the Using the Self Cleaning Oven section
• Heavily soiled ovens require at least 5 hours of cleaning time
• Heavy spillovers should be cleaned up before starting clean cycle.
= The oven must cool below the locking temperature after the clean cycle
is complete. Do not lock door with door latch except when using the
self-clean feature or the oven may lock,
• Stop the self-clean cycle. See the Using the Self Cleaning Oven section..
, Improper air/gas ratio in oven.. Adjust oven burner air shutter.
• An odor from the insulation around the oven liner is normal for the first few
times oven is used° This is temporary.
° The drawer is out of alignment. Fully extend the drawer and push it all the way
in. See the Care and Cleaning section_
• The drawer is overloaded or load is unbalanced.. Reduce the weight..
Redistribute the drawer contents.
This is the sound of the metal heating and cooling during both the cooking and
cleaning functions, This is normal°
Excessive soi_ left in the oven. Press the STOP/CLEAR pad. Open the windows
to rid the room of smoke, Wait until the light on the SELF CLEAN pad goes off,
Wipe up the excess soil and reset the clean cycle°
