TROUBLE
REMEDY
Motor will not run.
Blade does not run in the
approximate
center of the
upper wheel.
Blade does not run in the
approximate
center of the
lower wheel.
Band Saw slows down when
cutting.
Blades breaking.
PROBABLE
CAUSE
1. Defective
On-Off
switch.
1.
Defective
switch
cord.
Defective
switch
box receptacle.
2. Motor
protector
open,
2.
(only
if your
motor
is
equipped
with
an
overload
protector).
Other
cause.
1. Not tracking
properly.
1. Lower
wheel
not positioned
correctly
on shaft.
1. Belt too loose.

2. Motor
pivots
in motor
base.

3. Cutting
too small a radius.

4. Dull blade.

1. Too
much tension.

2. Kink
in blade caused by cutting

too small a radius or turning
the
material
too fast when cutting.
Replace defective parts before using
Band Saw/Sander again.
Consult
Sears Service.
Any
attempt
to repair
this motor
may create
a HAZARD
unless
repair
is done by a qualified
service technician.
Repair

tracking,

1. Reposition
the wheel,

Adjust
belt tension,
see Assembly

Tighten
motor
base clamp
screws. See
Assembly

Installation".
Stop feeding,
and back up the material
slightly,
until
the band saw speeds up.
Replace blade.
Adjust
tension.
