Prerequisite information for creating the delta resync pair

A Continuous Access Journal delta resync pair is created in a 3DC multitarget configuration
only.
Do not include the 3DC multitarget configuration in a system that consists of multiple primary
and secondary storage systems.
Use Continuous Access Synchronous S-VOL in PAIR status as the primary data volume.
Use Continuous Access Journal data volume in PAIR status as the secondary data volume.
The mirror ID must be between 1 and 3, but cannot be the same ID you assigned to the
Continuous Access Journal pair in the 3DC multitarget configuration.
Use a consistency group that is not used by a Continuous Access Journal pair.
Requirements to combine Continuous Access Journal with other functions in
125).
System option mode 506 must be ON for delta resync.
When you create more than one Continuous Access Journal pair for the delta resync operation,
each pair in the journal group must:
Use the same mirror ID
Be paired with S-VOLs in the same restore journal

Prerequisite information for performing the delta resync operation

Before performing a delta resync operation, identify a Continuous Access Journal pair that belongs
to the journal group whose Continuous Access Journal pairs meet the following requirements:
The status of the primary data volume is HOLD.
The volume of the Continuous Access Synchronous pair is the primary data volume.
If you use Continuous Access Synchronous P-VOL, the pair status should be PAIR.
If you use Continuous Access Synchronous S-VOL, the pair status should be SSWS.
Check the pair status after executing the RAID Manager horctakeover command.
The secondary data volume uses two mirror IDs. The status of the secondary volume that uses
one of the mirror IDs is HOLD. The status of the secondary volume that uses another mirror ID
is PAIR, PSUS, or PSUE.
All differential data between the primary and secondary data volumes is stored in the master
journal group.
After creating the Continuous Access Journal pair for a delta resync operation (or if a failure
occurred at the primary site after recovery of the Continuous Access Synchronous pair or
Continuous Access Journal pair), only a portion of the differential data between the primary
and secondary data volumes may be stored in the master journal group.
The Continuous Access Journal pair that is for the delta resync operation has the same number
of secondary volumes.
The path between the primary and secondary sites to which the Continuous Access Journal
pair for delta resync operation belongs is available.
After creating the Continuous Access Journal pair for delta resync operation or performing a
delta resync operation, update the primary site 5 minutes after the status of the Continuous
Access Journal pair and Continuous Access Synchronous pair becomes PAIR.
If the delta resync operation to support remote command devices is performed, you can execute
the delta resync operation after the primary site is updated.
