When this mode is selected, the camera detects smiling faces and automatically
releases the shutter even if you don't press the shutter-release button.
• This function can be used when the shooting mode is I_1 (auto), P, S, A, M, U,
scene mode Portrait or Night portrait.

• When the camera detects a face, a yellow double
border (focus area) is displayed around that face When
the camera has focused on that face, the double
border will turn green for a moment and focus is
locked
• Up to three faces are detected When more than one face is detected, the face closest
to the center of the frame is framed by a double border and the others by single
borders
• If the camera detects that the face framed by the double border is smiling, the shutter
is automatically
released.
• Each time the shutter is released, automatic
shooting using face detection and smile
detection is repeated.

Finish
shooting.
• To cancel smile detection
and finish shooting, return to step ] and select OFF.
