OPTIONAL SETTINGS
Setting 9: PSEUDO RINGING DURATION
This sets the duration of pseudo ringing when Automatic Fax/Phone Changeover is
turned on. Enter a number from "l" or "2" as follows:
"l" (15 SEC.):
15 seconds
"2" (30
SEC.):
30 seconds

Setting 10: A.M. CONNECTED
Press "l" (YES) if an answering machine is connected to the fax, or "2" (NO) if not,
Factory setting: "2"
Setting 11: QUIET DETECT TIME
This sets the duration of silence (in seconds) after which the fax will take over the
line and begin reception when an answering machine is connected. Enter a number
from "01" to "1O", or enter "00" to turn off the function. (See Chapter 4 for more
details.)
Factory setting: "04"
Setting 12: FAX RX A.M. FAILS
Press "l"
(YES)
to have the fax answer a call if an answering machine connected
to the fax does not answer within 5 rings. Press "2" (NO) to turn the function off.
(This setting is described in more detail in "Optional Settings" in Chapter 4.)
Factory setting: "2"
Setting 13: PAPER SAVE
This reduces the vertical length of documents received, allowing you to save paper.
Enter a number from "l" to "3" as follows ("S" will appear highlighted
in the display
while Paper Save is turned on):
"l" (MODE 1):
Reduce only the white spaces between lines.
"2" (MODE 2):
Reduce
the entire document by 50Y0(only
when
standard resolution
is used).
"3" (NO):
No Paper Save,
Factory setting: "3"
