Setting the Network Functions
Mac OS 8.6/9.x
Use the Chooser and the AppleTalk item of the Control Panel to confirm the
Macintosh network settings.

Confirm that AppleTalk can be used.

Confirm that Ethernet is selected for the AppleTalk connection.
This completes the network settings for a Macintosh.
Important
z Be sure to select the Printer Port if Ethernet is connected via LocalTalk.
From the Apple menu select Chooser.
Confirm that Active is selected for AppleTalk. If the setting is
Inactive, select Active.
Start AppleTalk on the Control Panel.
Select Built-in Ethernet.
Close AppleTalk to save the setting.
