<Cause>
Paper feed operation fails to feed paper. Paper eject
operation fails to eject paper.
<Suspected parts>
• Check for paper jams, gear
deformation/damage/missing teeth.
• Is the paper thickness lever's position correct?

Repair or replace faulty parts
Cover-open sensor ON
• Check the paper feed motor, pick-up roller, paper feed roller, and eject roller
for movement during initialization. (Pick-up roller does not rotate during
initialization while the carriage is at home position.)
• Check for abnormal sounds.
• Check the paper feed motor for out-of-step.

Repair or replace faulty parts
Replace logic board
Check if the pick-up roller rotates and the
ASF feeds paper normally.
No
Check auto sheet feeder unit
Using paper, check the arm for smooth motion,
deformation, or damage.
No
Replace the paper end

Part 4: TROUBLESHOOTING
Paper feed section, paper end sensor,
logic board
• Check the pick-up roller's rubber rings and
the separation sheet for cleanliness, wear, or
degradation.
• Check the rod cam for engagement.
• Check the gears for deformation/damage and
Mylar damage. Perform roller cleaning.
