Cleaning or capping is not executed properly or not
detected.
<Suspected Parts>
During initialization, do the paper feed motor, feed roller,
eject roller, etc., rotate? Any abnormal noises?
Is the paper feed motor out of synchronization?
No
1. Repair/Replace a
faulty part(s).
2. Replace the logic
board.
Check to see if the purge sensor cable connectors
(which are located at both the purge sensor and
the logic board) are connected properly and check
the joint cable conductivity.
No
Re-connect/Replace
the purge sensor cable.
Remove the purge unit from the printer, and fully rotate
the drive gear by hand in both directions to check that
it moves smoothly.
Check the purge sensor.

While the power is on, remove the purge unit,
then check the measuring points by rotating
the drive gear manually to open and close the
sensor.

Replace
the purge unit.
Check to see if each gear or slide lock lever is deformed
