    1.1.Features of your Microlife Premium Portable Automatic Blood Pressure Monitor Your Microlife blood pressure monitor with Microlife Averaging Mode and Irregular Heartbeat Detection is a fully automatic digital blood pressure measuring device for use by adults on the upper arm at home or in your doctor’s/nurse’s office. It enables very fast and reliable measurement of systolic and diastolic blood pressure as well as pulse by way of the oscillometric method.

    2.2. Which values are normal? Blood pressure is very high if your diastolic pressure is above 90 mmHg and/or your systolic blood pressure is over 160 mmHg, while at rest. In this case, please con- sult your physician immediately. Long-term values at this level endanger your health due to continual damage to the blood vessels in you body.

    Further information • If your values are mostly normal under resting conditions but exceptionally high under conditions of physical or psychological stress, it is possible that you are suffering from so-called “labile hypertension.” Consult your doctor. • Correctly measured diastolic blood pressure values above 120mmHg require immediate medical treatment.

    b) Upper arm cuffs: Type S101 for arm circumference 24–33.7 cm or 9.5” - 13.25” Type S102 for arm circumference 30.5 - 40.64 cm 12” - 16” Your monitor comes with a medium and a large sized cuff. Please Note: Arm circumference should be measured with a measuring tape in the middle of the relaxed upper arm.

    4.2 Using an AC Adapter (Special accessory sold separately. This unit requires a special AC Adapter. Call 1-800-568-4147 to purchase AC Adapter Model #HMA-AC2) It is possible to operate this blood pressure monitor with an AC adapter. Once you receive your AC Adapter in the mail, make certain that you use an adapter that fulfills the legal requirements and electronic requirements in the U.S.

    scroll back so scroll slowly so you don’t miss the correct year. If you do pass the correct year the unit will scroll all the way to 2050, then start again at the year 2000. Once you select the correct year, press the Time/Date button to set it and move on to set the correct month. Then the Month will begin flashing.

To set an alarm time, press the Time/Date button on the side of the unit (the instrument must have been switched off beforehand) and immediately afterwards the "M" (Memory button) and hold both down until the bell symbol appears in the bottom left of the display.     4.7. Microlife Averaging Mode In Microlife Averaging Mode, three measurements are auto- matically taken in succession and the result then automatical- ly analyzed and displayed. Because your blood pressure con- stantly fluctuates, a result determined in this way is more reli- able than one produced by a single measurement.

    5. Measurement Procedure Please note: You should always be seated before and during measurement. 5.1. Before measurement: • Avoid eating and smoking as well as all forms of exertion directly before meas- urement. These factors influence the measurement result. Find time to relax by sitting in an armchair in a quiet atmosphere for about ten minutes before meas- urement.

    5.3. Fitting the cuff a) Pass the end of the cuff through the flat metal ring so that a loop is formed. The Velcro™ closer must be facing outward. (Ignore this step if the cuff has already been prepared.) b) Place the cuff over the left upper arm so that the tube is closer to your lower arm.

    Comment: If it is not possible to fit the cuff to your left arm, it can also be placed on your right arm. However, all measurements should be made using the same arm. Comparable blood pressure measurements always require the Cuff on same conditions (Relax for several minutes before a reading).

    This function allows you to view the three individual measurements used to calculate the Microlife Averaging Mode (MAM) measurement. After taking a MAM measurement hold the memory button for 3 seconds until you hear a short beep. (Do not hold the button longer than 7 seconds or you will delete all the readings in the memory.)     5.6. Memory – displaying the last 99 measurements At the end of a measurement, this monitor automatically stores each result with date and time. This unit stores 99 memories for each of 2 users. Viewing the stored values With the unit off, press the "M" button. The display first shows "A", then shows an aver- age of all measurements stored in the unit.

Battery Charge Indicator Batteries almost discharged When the batteries are approximately 75% used the battery symbol will flash as soon as the instrument is switched on (if at least one of the batteries still has some charge). Although the instrument will con- tinue to measure reliably, you should obtain replacement batteries.

    5.3 Prueba del brazalete a) Pase el extremo del brazalete a travez del pasador de metal para formar un lazo. La parte que tiene el Velcro™ debe quedar ori- entada hacia afuera. (Ignore este paso si el brazalete ya ha sido preparado). b) Pongase el brazalete en el brazo izquierdo en forma que el tubo quede mas cercano a la parte extrema inferior del mismo.
