After the terminal has been located this option lets you determine the
number of retries to establish communications between the terminal
and the Management server.
With this option enabled THINTUNE will attempt to receive
an IP-address, a subnet mask and the Default Gateway automatically
via DHCP during boot. If this option is disabled you have to enter the
according data manually.
Information
Please take care that for remote administration purposes DHCP-
setting in THINTUNE Manager are set correctly
the address of one or more DNS servers via DHCP during boot. If this
option is disabled you have to enter the according data manually.
Alternatively you might enter up to two additional DNS servers
(Alternate DNS Server) to avoid problems when the operational DNS
server is down due to a failure.
Information
Some of the built-in software-clients of THINTUNE such as the
Tarantella-client need to have access to a DNS Server. You might
test connectivity to a DNS Server with the nslookup utility. This is
to be found in the System/Sysinfo dialog.
