The volume cannot be used if the corresponding Cnt Ac-J pair belongs to a JNL group with P9500 mode 707 set to
ON.
3
The volume can be used only when you resynchronize a Continuous Access Synchronous pair or perform a RAID
Manager horctakeover operation. In this case, even though the corresponding Cnt Ac-J pair belongs to a JNL group
with P9500 mode 707 set to ON, the volume can be used.
4
The volume can be used only when you resynchronize a Continuous Access Synchronous pair or perform a RAID
Manager horctakeover operation, except when the corresponding Cnt Ac-J pair belongs to a JNL group with P9500
mode 707 set to ON.

If the Continuous Access Synchronous S-VOL is a V-VOL, the Continuous Access Synchronous pair cannot be created.
Create the Continuous Access Synchronous pair after completing volume migration or stopping the Auto LUN operation.
The following sections clarify key information regarding shared volumes.

Continuous Access Journal

Continuous Access Synchronous and Continuous Access Journal can share the same pair volumes.
Using a combined Continuous Access Synchronous and Continuous Access Journal configuration
can extend disaster recovery options to a third data center.
Like Continuous Access Synchronous, a Continuous Access Journal pair maintains a copy of the
production volume in a second location. However, unlike Continuous Access Synchronous, the
