Troubleshooting
Description
The link initialization
procedure to the remote
system failed.
Communication between the
main and remote system
timed out.
The main or remote system
rejected the logical path link
control function because all
logical path resources in the
two systems are being used
for other connections.
The remote system's S/N
does not match the specified
S/N.
The specified port is not
configured as an initiator
port, or this path already
exists.
The specified port number is
invalid. The cable is not
connected to the specified
port.
A timeout error has occurred
between the main and remote
system.
Corrective action
Make sure that the main and remote system are physically
and correctly connected.
Make sure that you entered the correct remote system S/N,
SSID, and path parameters (port, link address, logical
address).
Make sure the remote system is powered on and fully
functional (NVS, cache).
Make sure that data path hardware is properly configured
and functional (cables, connectors, switches, extender
devices, communication lines, and all other devices
connected to the extenders).
Delete the failed path. You may need to change the
minimum paths setting or delete the remote system in order
to delete the path. Then add the path/remote system using
Edit Path or Add RCU.
Delete the failed path.
Also, delete all paths and remote systems not currently in
use. The main system can be connected to a maximum of
four remote systems, with up to eight paths to each system.
Make sure that all main and remote system ports are
properly configured: ordinary target ports or RCU target
ports for hosts, RCU target ports for remote systems, initiator
ports for main systems. If necessary, connect to the remote
system to delete paths. Reconfigure the ports, then reconnect
to the main system and add the path/remote system again
using Edit Path or Add RCU.
Make sure that you entered the correct remote system S/N,
SSID, and path parameters (port, link address, logical
address).
Delete the failed path. You may need to change the
minimum paths setting or delete the remote system in order
to delete the path. Then add the path/remote system using
Edit Path or Add RCU.
Fibre: Make sure that you entered the correct Controller ID,
and that the Fibre Channel topology settings on the main
and remote system ports are correct.
Make sure the correct main system port is configured as an
initiator port and the correct remote system port is
configured as an RCU target port.
Delete the failed path. Check the port number or the cable
connection, and retry.
Delete the failed path and retry.
