Explanation & Corrective Actions
There is a problem with the disk drive, or the disk
drive is not properly formatted.Insert a diskette with
the proper operating system, then press any
alphanumeric key to continue.
Either there is no operating system diskette in drive
A, or
The hard disk drive is disabled, or not present.
Insert a diskette with the proper operating system, and
press any alphanumeric key to continue.
The operating system could not be found when
starting the PC.
Restart the PC by pressing CTRL, ALT, and
DELETE.
Run the Setup program to check that the hard disk
drive has been detected correctly.
If the problem persists, contact your service
representative.
You tried to start the PC, but the PC could not find the
operating system.
Check that the flexible disk contains the operating
system
Check that the hard disk drive contains the
operating system
Ensure Start from FDD or Start from HDD is
enabled in the Setup program.
Remove the diskette, or replace it with the proper
operating system diskette, and press any
alphanumeric key to continue.
The device specified in the error message is not ready
to accept or transmit data. This could occur if:
The diskette has not been inserted correctly. If this
is the problem, reinsert the diskette and type R (for
Retry).
The printer is not workingensure it is on and ready
to print.
The device has been disabled using Setup.
The parameters returned by the display do not match
the DCC1 standard used by your PC for the automatic
setup of ergonomic refresh rates. The Plug and Play
Display parameter in the Setup program has been set
to Disabled to avoid a blank screen after power on (or
improper DMI recognition).
