The client cannot backup another non
Microsoft partition.
The appliance can only backup partitions on the hard disk of the protected computer,
if it can read those partitions. For example, if the disk was split into a program
partition and a data partition for use within the same Microsoft operating system,
then both partitions will be protected. If the hard disk is split for dual boot - one
partition the Microsoft OS and the other, say, a Linux partition, then only the
Microsoft partition will be backed up. The appliance will not be able to read the other
non Microsoft partition and it will not be protected. In addition, Windows 98 cannot
read NTFS partitions, and NT4 cannot read FAT32 partitions.
The restored files are different to those
expected.
The files could be different in the following ways:
Different filenames
Different content
Different size
Different properties
Different location
Each of the properties mentioned above can change over time. For example, the files
may have moved locations between backups. The file can be different each time it is
backed up. Make sure you have selected the correct one. For example, if you want to
restore the most recent version of a file, check that the restored file is not an older
version. Also check that the version that you want to recover has indeed been backed
up.
After that check, examine the files on the computer with the account to see if they are
different in a similar way. There might be an issue with the memory or disk of the
system, which would be shown by corruption of backed up and non-backed up files.
