1.3.5 DVD Region Codes

All DVD Video discs carry region mark on the case indicating the region(s) of
the world where the disc may be played. The PRV-9000 also has a region
code printed on the rear panel. The codes on the discs and this unit must
have a matching code in order to function. Discs marked with ALL play on
this device.

Recording & Editing Limitations
There are two recording modes on the PRV-9000, VR mode and Video mode.
When recording to DVD-R, set the unit to Video mode only. DVD-RW media
supports both Video and VR modes. Many functions are dependent upon the
recording method.

identify recording compatibility.

VR Mode

The VR mode (Video Recording) is a subset of the Video mode. While Video
mode allows video viewing and minimal navigation, VR mode provides
advanced playback options and menu creation. When selecting the VR
mode, refer to these guidelines.
Two play modes: Standard Play (SP) or Manual (MN)
Multiple picture quality/recording time settings
– SP mode has two different settings available
– MN mode has 32 different settings available
Incompatible with DVD set-top players
Recordings may be extensively edited
