If a MAPI (Messaging Application Program Interface) compliant Electronic Messaging
Client such as Microsoft Mail or Microsoft Exchange is active on your computer
system, the program's icon will automatically appear in the Application Link Area. You
can also link to other e-mail applications using the linking procedure described in this
chapter.
Note: Documents sent as e-mail attachments are converted by default to JPEG files.
When you send a document stack, each document in the stack is sent as a
separate attachment. If you want documents to be converted to a different
format, right click the icon of the e-mail application in the Application Link Area
and select Properties from the popup menu. This starts the Application Linking
Wizard. Change the document format in the appropriate window of the wizard.
Note that some formats, such as Bitmap, may result in excessively large files
for high-resolution documents. Sending and receiving such a file will require a
long time and may exceed a size limit imposed by the e-mail application or
server. In this case, we recommend that you use JPEG.
Note: Documents sent as e-mail attachments are converted to Windows Bitmap files,
and are renamed. This name consists of "page", followed by four digits and the
.bmp suffix (for example, "page0000.bmp"). When you send a document stack,
each document in the stack is sent as a separate attachment.
