In the "UI Client" section. The updated information is as follows:
For managing a network with at least one DMI-compatible device in it, Juniper
recommends a minimum of 2 GB of RAM. If you have 1000 or more devices in your
network, Juniper recommends a minimum of 4 GB RAM.
After the installation, Juniper recommends that you make the following change in the
NSM.lax file in the C:\Program Files\Network and Security Manager
client machines:
Change:
lax.nl.java.option.java.heap.size.max=384m
to:
lax.nl.java.option.java.heap.size.max to 1280 m
In the "Memory Requirements" section. After the installation, Juniper recommends that
you make the following changes on the server machine/(s):
In the /var/netscreen/GuiSvr/guiSvr.cfg
guiSvrDirectiveHandler.max.heap
In the
/var/netscreen/DevSvr/devSvr.cfg
devSvrDirectiveHandler.max.heap
After implementing the above changes, restart Gui Svr and Dev Svr.
Regarding the number of devices supported in the "Choosing Standalone, Distributed,
or High Availability Configurations" section. NSM supports scaling up to 3000 devices
instead of 6000 devices, as mentioned in the guide.
Regarding the minimum RAM requirement:
In "Table 6: Minimum System Requirements— Management System on Same Server":
The server having both Gui Svr and Dev Svr requires a minimum of 4 GB RAM instead
of 2 GB, as mentioned in the guide.
In "Table 7: Minimum System Requirements— Management System on Separate
Servers": Having the Gui Svr and Dev Svr on separate servers requires a minimum of
4 GB RAM each and not 2 GB, as mentioned in the guide.
In "Table 8: Minimum System Requirements—User Interface": The user interface
requires a minimum of 2 GB RAM and not 1 GB, as mentioned in the guide. For
managing large scale setups (for example, with more than 1000 devices on the NSM
server), Juniper recommends a minimum of 4 GB RAM.
