(Samba)
The Samba file and print sharing service for Windows enables you to configure your network with
the security of Linux as well as to access your Linux servers via Windows workstations.

10.1 Installing Samba Basic

1 Click Install under Available Software.
2 Click Basic, then click Next.
3 Specify basic configurations for your system.
Workgroup or Domain Name: Specify the name of the workgroup that your server
belongs to.
User Container: Specify the base LDAP container for users. This is where the Samba
domain object is stored.
Emulate NT4 Domain Controller: Specify if Samba should act as the Primary Domain
Controller (PDC).
4 Review the settings. To make a change, click Back. To proceed with the installation, click Next.
5 The Samba installation is now complete. Click Finish to proceed to the available software
page. Samba is now listed on the installed software list and can be administered from the
Samba administration link.

10.2 Installing Samba Advanced

1 Click Install under Available Software.
2 Click Advanced, then click Next.
3 Specify the LDAP configurations for your system.
NetBIOS Name: Specify the NetBIOS name of the server. The first part of the host's
DNS name can be used as the NetBIOS name.
Workgroup or Domain Name: Specify the name of the workgroup or domain that your
server belongs to or will host.
LDAP Admin Name: Specify the name of the LDAP admin that has supervisory rights.
LDAP Context: Specify the context of the admin user in your eDirectory
