GroupWise
has a set of tools that keep your employees connected to clients and each other. The
system comes with e-mail, calendaring, and instant messaging to set up according to your company
needs.
IMPORTANT: If you want to install Groupwise and MailScanner on the same server, use the Add/
Remove function to add MailScanner only after Groupwise is installed. Adding these two
applications simultaneously in the initial installer might cause the Groupwise install to fail.

8.1 Installing GroupWise Basic
1 Click Install under Available Software.
2 Select Basic, then click Next.
3 Select your GroupWise configuration items.
Base GroupWise System: The basic GroupWise system includes the mail server with
thick client support.
Internet Agent: Required for sending e-mail.
Web Access: Web-based mail client.
Monitor: Administrative monitoring of server activity.
Messenger: Instant messenger server.
4 Specify your GroupWise LDAP settings.
Tree Name: Specify a name for your eDirectory
IP Address: Specify the IP address for your eDirectory tree.
Tree Context: Specify a name for your eDirectory domain.
Admin User: Specify the name of your admin user.
Admin Password: Specify a password for your admin user.
gwSysName: Specify the name of your GroupWise system.
5 Specify your Internet Domain. For example: novell.com.
6 Review the settings. To make a change, click Back. To proceed with the installation, click Next.
7 The GroupWise basic install is now complete. Click Finish to proceed to the Available
Software page. GroupWise is now listed on the installed software list.
