Removing an Instance From a System

You can remove a CMS instance from your host. Removing a CMS instance is not
the same as uninstalling CMS. For instructions on uninstalling CMS, see
"Uninstalling CMS" on page 81.
To remove a CMS instance:
Log in to Netscape Console (see "Logging Into Netscape Console" on

Stop the CMS instance.

Select the CMS instance you want to remove and choose Remove Server from

the Object menu.
Alternatively, you can select the CMS instance you want to remove and then
right-click your mouse choosing Remove Server from the pop-up menu.
When prompted, confirm that you want to remove the instance.

The selected CMS instance is removed. The corresponding internal database is
not removed. If you want to remove it, select the internal database, and repeat
steps 2 through 4.
The Directory Server (configuration directory) and Administration Server
binaries are also not removed; you need these to administer the remaining
servers installed in the same server group.
