Battery Operation using Rechargeable Batteries

1. Remove the battery cover on the back of the unit by sliding the
cover to the OPEN direction.
2. Insert 4 x UM-2 (C size) rechargeable batteries into the
battery compartment. Make sure all batteries are inserted with
correct polarity as shown inside the battery compartment.
The radio is designed with Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH)
rechargeable battery usage.
3. Slide the battery switch to the NiMH/NiCad position and then
replace the battery cover.
4. Insert the supplied AC power adapter into the DC-In jack on the
left hand side of the radio and plug the adapter into a standard
13A main socket outlet.
5. The DC jack ring LED flashes indicating that the batteries
are charging. When the DC jack ring stops flashing it should
indicate that the batteries are fully charged.
(Approximate charging time is 8 hours).
Important:
When using rechargeable batteries, the battery switch must be
placed in the NiMH/NiCad position. The radio must be turned off
while charging the batteries. Otherwise, the batteries will not be
charged to its full capacity.
6. Decreased of power, distortion and "stuttering sound" are signs
that the batteries may need to be recharged. Should the battery
power decreases, the low battery power indicator will start
flashing on the LCD display.
7. If the radio is not to be used for any extended period of time,
it is recommended that the batteries are removed from
the radio. For extended listening, we recommend to use
the supplied AC power adapter or otherwise the
rechargeable batteries.
