To select an object within a group:

Do one of the following:

Click the Subselect tool and click the object to select it.
Using the Pointer tool, hold down Alt (Windows) or Option (Macintosh) and click the object
to select it.
To add objects to the subselection, press Shift as you subselect.

To select an object behind another object in a group:

Click the Pointer tool.

Do one of the following:

In Windows, hold down Control+Alt and right-click to cycle through selected objects.
On the Macintosh, hold down Control+Option and click to cycle through selected objects.

To deselect a subselected object:

Press Tab or click outside the group.
To select the group containing a subselected object:
Select Edit > Select > Superselect.

To subselect all objects within a group:

With the group selected in the Document window, double-click the Contents property in the
Properties list of the Object panel.
