    Never blow compressed air in the irrigation connections as this will irremediably damage internal parts. Only use the CombiTorque to tighten the EMS instrument on the handpiece to the correct torque. Once the instrument is screwed all the way in, give an extra quarter of a turn to obtain the required torque.

    WORKING TECHNIQUE EMS Piezon instruments vibrate in a controlled back and forth oscillation. During treatment, always hold the instrument tangentially to the tooth surface. Move the handpiece similarly to a paintbrush while applying a light lateral pressure. For a given power setting, long and thin instruments deliver less clinical power, meaning a more gentle treatment for the patient.

    SCALING Avoid using the HVE (high volume evacuation) to ensure sufficient cooling of the tooth and the instrument. The instrument heats up quickly if the irrigation flow rate is not enough.     Always examine your Piezon system for damage before commencing treatment. Damaged acces- sories or a damaged product must not be used and must be replaced. Use original EMS spare parts and accessories only. Listen for a noise change when the instrument is activated to detect a possible loosening of the instrument in the handpiece.
