Turn the selector back to
DESCALE.
If you make a mistake during this process, you can halt the automatic de-scaling
programme by unplugging your appliance. Repeat the complete descale programme.
Coffee : stale ? acidic ? > try a new batch.
Water : there could be too much chloride in the water ? use Brita cartridge or bottled
spring water.
After descale : you may need to rinse the machine again (

pipe and tank through filter holder).

Coffee quality : stale ? too coarse ? > try a new batch.
Coffee quantity : not enough ? > increase the amount and tamp it down lightly.
Wait until the indicator lights
Preheat the cups and filter-holder. See "temperature control".
The ground coffee needs to be spread more evenly in the filter.
Clean the filter holder.
Coffee : too many ? too fine ? too tamped ? > change.
Appliance blocked with limescale > descale.
Filters or extractor head clogged > see "cleaning".
Check the flexible tube is inside the water tank.
Coffee too coarse ? Change coffee ground.
If you use E.S.E pods, we recommend doing only 1 cup at a time.
Rinse filter holder under running water.
Pipe : blocked ? clogged with limescale ? > see "de-scaling".
Use only full fat milk.
Reduce the amount of ground coffee you use and tighten the filter holder.
The coffee pod has been incorrectly positioned.
Clean the extractor head and the rim of the filter.
Turn the selector back to
Empty the drip tray regularly.
The water tank may be empty.
Slot the power cord correctly into the special notches underneath the appliance.
Check the connections.
The safety system may have been triggered. Wait 30 minutes before switching your
coffee maker back on.
