4. (Discrete models) In the order indicated on the heat sink, loosen the eight captive Phillips screws (1)
that secure the heat sink to the system board.
5. Remove the heat sink (2).
6. (Discrete models) Thoroughly clean the thermal material from the surfaces of the heat sink and the
system board components each time the heat sink is removed. Replacement thermal material is
included with the heat sink and system board spare part kits. The following illustration shows the
replacement thermal material locations.
Thermal paste (1) and thermal pads (2) are used on the bottom of the heat sink.
To replace the heat sink, reverse the removal procedures.

Graphics card

To remove the graphics card, use this procedure and illustration.
