    PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS FOR LIFTMASTER MODEL SL 1000-X1, SW 2000-X1 and BG 3000-X1 SLIDE GATE OPERATORS INTRODUCTION TELEPHONE INTERFACE The innovative LiftMaster SL 1000-X1, SW 2000-X1 and BG 3000-X1 Gate Operators provide telephone interface between the gate operator and a DTMF (tone) telephone or modem and personal computer (PC).     ACCESSING THE KEYPAD PROGRAMMING MODE Password The programming password is a 6-digit number. The factory set password is 000000. This password can be changed (see steps 17 and 18). Enter Program Mode To begin programming, enter 3 asterisks (✳✳✳) followed by the 6-digit password. Example: ✳✳✳000000 Results: The display reflects a P.

    PROGRAMMING STEPS AND OPTIONS GATE TYPE (Step 01) The SL 1000-X1 is a slide gate operator, the SW 2000-X1 is a swing gate operator, and the BG 3000-X1 is a barrier gate operator. If not already set at the factory, you must select the gate type used in your installation.

    Step: 06 Enter: 1 digit, 0 - 1 0 = Disabled 1 = Enabled Sample: ATG enabled = 06+1+# Factory set default: 0 (No ATG) GATE RECLOSE TIME (Step 08) Purpose: Determines how long (in seconds) the gate will remain fully open before it begins to close.
  • Page 9 Instantaneous Motor Current Triggers The Reverse Sense Detector An instantaneous motor current, such as a jolt, triggers the Reverse Sense Detector when the gate is moving. When the Reverse Sense Detector is triggered, the gate stops. After stopping, the closing gate can back up a designated number of inches. Purpose: Designates the approximate number of inches the closing gate will back up after stopping when the Reverse Sense Detector is triggered.

    RETRY After the gate encounters an obstruction and stops, the gate operator can be programmed to: 1) try a maximum number of times to continue moving the gate along its path 2) pause a designated number of seconds between tries. Maximum Retry Count Purpose: Designates the maximum number of times the gate will try to continue moving along its path after it stopped when encountering an obstruction.

    PASSWORD (Steps 17, 18) Change Password Purpose: Changes programming password. Always verify the change by using step 18 before exiting programming. Step: 17 Enter: Any combination of 6 digits.   • Page 13 Set Gate Schedule The gate operator can be programmed to remain open during expected heavy traffic periods. The gate schedule offers the following: a) day(s) of the week to effect the schedule. b) two different time segments each day during which the gate opens automatically, remains open, and closes automatically at the designated time.

    ALERT CALLING ALERT PROGRAMMING (Steps 22 - 31) The gate operator is programmable to identify various gate conditions called “alerts”. The alerts are: 1) a drivetrain failure alert, indicating a possible stuck limit switch, slipping belt, etc., 2) a safety bar alert (applicable only if a safety bar is installed), indicating the gate was stopped because the safety bar was triggered, 3) an overcurrent alert, indicating the gate was stopped by an obstruction, 4) motor windings open alert, indicating the motor protector opened, 5) (not used), 6) (not used), 7) an alert indicating...
  • Page 16 Alert Pause Purpose: To set the pause after dialing the alert telephone number. It is necessary to estimate the normal length of time it takes for the receiving instrument to connect to incoming calls. The time is expressed in seconds. NOTE: It is important to enter the correct pause time.
  • Page 17 Alert Triggers Programming commands for alert triggers consist of three parts in the following sequence: a) the alert trigger step number (Step 23) b) the substep number (1 - 7) Alert Trigger Substeps are: Substep 1 = Drivetrain failure alert, indicating a limit switch is stuck, a belt is broken or slipping, etc.

    Alert Attempts Purpose: Designates the number of attempts the gate operator will make in order to connect to the receiving instrument when a programmed alert is triggered. When calling a pager, there are no provisions in the gate operator unit to verify that the connection was successful.

    Answer Ring Override Interval Purpose: Overrides step 20, Rings Before Answer. Useful to avoid voicemail or answering service pickup. To override Rings Before Answer, two calls must be made to the gate operator in the following manner: First call - Disconnect the call to the gate operator before the unit answers. Second call - Recall the gate operator within the designated override time and the unit will answer immediately.

    RECEIVING REPORTS AT A REMOTE LOCATION (Steps 51 - 53) Two beeps from the gate operator indicate that the connection is made between the gate operator and the calling DTMF telephone. To enter commands from the telephone keypad, enter three asterisks (✳✳✳) and the programming password. After the gate operator confirms the password by emitting a carrier tone, enter the designated step number followed by the pound key (#).
