Brush Roll Replacement 1. Check the brush rolls for signs of wear. There is a yellow wear-indicating bristle on each roll. If the working bristles have worn down to the length of the yellow bristle, or if the brush roll is damaged in any way, it will need to be replaced. Always replace the brush rolls in pairs. -
