Understand Content Substitution ('Failover')

Your DMP can continue to operate and show media despite occasional network outages or other
technical disruptions. To accomplish this, you must tell your DMP ahead of time which assets it should
play when it cannot load its correct assets. We call this content substitution behavior "failover."
You can edit values that affect DMP behaviors during failover.

Stage 1: Sequence of Operations

When an HTTP status code of 404 or 500 prevents your DMP from obtaining the content that you
scheduled it to play, your DMP enters stage 1 failover. Stage 1 operations for failover occur in a
predictable sequence.
In DMPDM 5.2.0 to 5.2.2:
