Warnings / Maintenance instructions
Driving with rear bike carrier
- Adapt your driving style accordingly.
- Read the speed instructions and general information about the rear bike carrier in the Driver's Manual.
- Note change in vehicle centre of gravity.
- The boot can only be opened when the bike carrier is folded down - risk of damage!
- On vehicles with optional equipment "Virtual pedal", the tailgate can be opened or closed when you are working in the rear area provided the connector for the bike carrier is not connected. We recommend that you deactivate the virtual pedal in the settings.
- Do not carry the driver's key while fitting the rear bike carrier.
- Switch off ignition.
Incorrect loading and fitting of the rear bike carrier
- On uneven ground, we recommend that you set the vehicle to high level in order to offset uneven surfaces, thereby creating more space between the ground and the bike carrier when fitting it. All vehicle height settings can be used on level ground (e.g. in a garage). Low level makes fitting easier because the bike carrier does not have to be raised as high.
- Never load or fit the rear bike carrier on the side of the road.
- Make sure that the bikes are secured correctly.
- When loading with just one bike, make sure not to trap the locking straps when closing the boot.
- Load heavy bicycles at the front (on boot side).
- Always check the rear bike carrier and the bikes you are transporting before starting to drive and at regular intervals during a long trip (max. every 300 km / 186miles) to ensure that they are fitted perfectly and securely on the vehicle and on the rear bike carrier.
- Please remove the rear bike carrier completely if you are not using it.
- Never drive through a car wash with the rear bike carrier.
Maintenance instructions
- Lubricate moving parts, such as hinges of the support bars, flaps and guide pins, at regular intervals using suitable lubricant.
- Wash using warm water and washing-up liquid, making sure that no water gets into the electric connector for the lights.
- Do not store the rear bike carrier lying down as its own weight will put pressure on moving parts. We recommend that you store the rear bike carrier upright.
- Never steam-clean the rear bike carrier in a washing bay.
Fitting
- Remove supplied emergency release tool and emergency release tool for charge port door provided in the tool kit in order to remove the left and right covers on the rear apron.

![Porsche - 9J0.813.601 - Fitting - Step 7 Fitting - Step 7]()
- Route electric plug connection from the bike carrier (LHD vehicle) towards the plug connection on the vehicle side and connect it. Plug connector straight in and turn it to the right. When routing the cable, make sure that it has adequate clearance so that it is not touching / rubbing against any component.

When actuated using the key or the control panel in the vehicle, the tailgate only pops up. The tailgate opens electrically when the button in the rear apron is pressed. Please press the button only when the bike carrier is folded down and when there is sufficient clearance between it and the tailgate because otherwise, the tailgate could hit against the bike carrier and could be damaged.
If the connector is not connected, the bike carrier and tailgate can hit against each other as described above because the tailgate then opens electrically.

- 1x on frame for each bike
- 1x on each wheel
- Fold spacers (LHD vehicle) for the bikes upwards. Place the bike with the front wheel on the rear bike carrier. If the access rail is fitted, push the bike over it onto the rear bike carrier.
![Porsche - 9J0.813.601 - Ratchets for tensioning points on the bike overview - Step 2 Ratchets for tensioning points on the bike overview - Step 2]()
- Place the bike fully on the carrier. Loosen the locking strap on the short spacer (LHD vehicle) and pull it out fully. The locking mechanism must be at "Lock" position so that the locking strap can be guided out and into the latch.

- Place spacer (LHD vehicle) (short) on the bike, making sure not to damage the bike and that the protective rubbers are fitted correctly. The locking mechanism must be at "Lock" position so that the locking strap can be guided out and into the latch. Insert locking strap (RHD vehicle) into the spacer (LHD vehicle) and tension it. Then, lock the locking lever (C) with the key in lowered position. To loosen the locking strap, press the white lever firmly away from the lock and pull the locking strap out of the ratchet. If the "Lock" lever is turned slightly, the locking strap cannot be pulled out.

- Open the spacer (long) (LHD vehicle) and remove it. The locking strap must be removed fully in order to remove the spacer. The reason for this is the anti-theft feature, which prevents the spacer from being opened when the bike is secured with the locking strap and the lock is closed. Place the second bike on the carrier in the opposite way to the first bike.
![Porsche - 9J0.813.601 - Ratchets for tensioning points on the bike overview - Step 6 Ratchets for tensioning points on the bike overview - Step 6]()
- Push the spacer (long) (LHD vehicle) through the frame of the front bike. Fit the spacer on the support bar, making sure that the protective rubber (C) is seated correctly on the support bar and fits perfectly in the claw of the spacer. If this is not the case, the rubber must be turned gradually. Fold down the cover (D) on the spacer and lock it (F). Place spacer on the frame of the second bike (RHD vehicle). The locking mechanism (F) must be at "Lock" position so that the locking strap can be guided out and into the latch. Insert locking strap into the spacer and tension it. Then, lock the locking lever (RHD vehicle) with the key in lowered position. To loosen the locking strap, press the white lever firmly towards the lock and pull the locking strap out of the ratchet. If the "Lock" lever is turned slightly, the locking strap cannot be pulled out.

Removing bikes

- Loosen spacer (long) on the support bar and remove it completely.
- Loosen locking straps on the front and rear wheels of the front bike fully.
- Loosen spacer (short) on the frame of the front bike fully and fold it upwards.
Folding down the bike carrier (access to the boot)
- Fold down the bike carrier. Exert pressure on the pedals (LHD vehicle) (marked area between tail light and number plate) (either at the left or right pedal). This allows you to move the upper part of the bike carrier (RHD vehicle) and fold it into the desired position by pulling on the bar.
![Porsche - 9J0.813.601 - Folding down the bike carrier - Step 1 Folding down the bike carrier - Step 1]()
- The bike carrier is now folded down and allows access to the boot. The bike carrier can also be folded down even when there are bikes on the bike carrier. A pneumatic spring dampens this process. To move the bike carrier back to its original position, move it back towards the vehicle by pressing the support bar until the mechanism locks with an audible click.
