    [1] General Safety and Installation Instructions 1. Safety Symbols and Indicators This manual used a system of safety symbols to promote and insure safe and proper installation and prevent injuries, accidents and damage. (1)Learn to recognize and understand the meaning of the various symbols shown below. (2)The symbols all identify items concerned with safety and the instructions should all be followed without exception.

Each unit must have its own devoted electrical circuit connection and MUST NOT share a circuit with other units or other types of equipment. >>Otherwise, there is the danger of shorts or overheating resulting in injury or damage.

    [6] Tray Arm CAUTION Tray installation requires two people. Make sure the work area is clear of obstacles and safe. After installing the tray arm, the chair may not be properly balanced and should be stabilized with addition support or rope until it is securely fixed to the floor.
  • Page 11 2. Install the tray arm with pole. 1)Loosen the enamel-head screws near the top of the pole. 2)Route the tubes and cords from the tray arm down through the pole and out the bottom. 3)Slide the arm’s joint into the pole. Put the arm straight in, not at an angle.

    [7] Operating Light This manual only covers the chair mount light. For other types, contact your local dealer or the J.Morita Corp. 1. Assemble the light pole 1)Take out the hex socket bolt on top of over arm joint. 2)Slide the light pole into the main pole.

    [8] Assistant’ s Arm Assembly CAUTION Make sure the area is clear of obstacles and safe before doing this. This should be done by two or more people working together. Assembly the arm as quickly as you can and take care that it does not fall off before it is securely assembled.

    [10] Operator’ s Tray Peripheral Components 1.Preparation of Tray Take off the tray to connect various components and put it back on Tray top afterwards. Do not lose parts that are taken off temporarily during ADVICE installation. 1)Loosen the adjustment screws below the tray and take off the tray top before installation for each parts.

Swing table Start the process with the front cover already open. 1) Attach the swing rods to the back part of the swing table. 2) (Total of 5 rods with 2 screws in each location) 2) Attach the tube stoppers to the swing rods. Fit them into the positions shown in the figure on the right.
  • Page 17 2. Film Viewer (Option various types) 1)Install the film viewer to the back part of the frame behind the tray. Line up the holes in the frame with the holes in the connection part of the film viewer, and attach it with 3 screws. 2)Connect the power supply from viewer with tray side.

    [11] Chair Components 1. Backrest Cushion Follow the section [4] backrest main body and fit with cushion. 1)Hook the holes in the back of the cushion onto the studs on the frame and then slide the cushion down into place. Make sure all of the studs are hooked onto the cushion.

    [12] Operator’ s Main Tubes WARNING Make sure the exhaust tubes are connecting rightly. >>Otherwise, there could be damage on main tube or accident. CAUTION Make sure both the air and water lines in the joint of the main tubes are securely and properly connected.
  • Page 21 3. Connect the plugs from motor and ultrasonic scaler joint to each connector inside the tray. >>LS1 >>SC * 4. Connect the plug from the tube with a pertinent connector of the table or less respectively for the light specification. On Three-way tubes attached with heater*case, only connect the plug from main tube to unit side if necessary.

    [13] Assistant’s Main tube CAUTION Joint cover Make sure all tubes are securely and properly in- stalled. >>Otherwise, there could be air or water leakage or both. Attach the tubes to the basin unit and put them in the assistant’s instrument holder.

  • Page 25 1. Plumbing Pit Set Up 1)After determining the exact location for the chair, fit the frame for the plumbing pit over the area where the main supply lines are. 2. Water <Main water valve> Packing 1)Connect the main water valve to the main water supply pipe. After applying sealing tape or some other suitable sealant, screw the valve onto the main supply pipe.
  • Page 26 4.Drain 1)Put the drain connector on the main drain. < Drain connector > Use PVC adhesive to put it on. 2)Drain Before putting the connector on adhesive, check the angle CHECK and tube routing. 2)Drain 2)Connect the tubes to the drain connector. Make sure they are tight and secure.
  • Page 27 7.Bacteria Filters CAUTION Do not mix up the air and water filters. >>Air and water filters are not interchangeable and will not work properly if they are mixed up. Always wear surgical gloves when handling the bacteria filters. >>Touching new filters directly could impair their performance. Make sure the filters are securely and properly installed.

    [15]Electric Lines Connection Connect 220/230/240V power supply to the terminal stand inside plumbing pit. Make sure the 220/230/240V breaker turn off before CHECK begin the operation. 1.     [16] Fix Chair and Plumbing Pit Frame to Floor WARNING Do not fail to follow the instructions and fix the chair securely and safely to the floor. >>Otherwise, the chair could fall over and cause serious bodily injury or equipment damage.

Install base cover I to the chair base. 1)Loosen the screw on base cover side. 2)To expand the cutting lack part that unscrewed a screw, and to cover the chair base, the cover is passed through the main body.

    [18] Check Air, Water and Electric Lines WARNING Do this only after completing all tube and cord connections. >>If connections are not completed or are not properly connected, there could be a short resulting in injury or water and air leakage resulting in a malfunction. If the unit will not be used for some time after installation is completed, turn off the main switch and close the main water and air valves.
  • Page 33 3. Check the air, water, drain and vacuum all operate properly. Visually exam the joint for the tray arm, the bottom of the CHECK basin unit, and all connections inside the plumbing pit. 1)Operate the auto cup filler and the threeway syringes to check the water supply.

If solenoid valves require adjustment, refer to the CHECK instructions in the separate technical documents. >>Check manual positioning using the switches on the operation panel and the levers on the foot control. >>Check auto positioning using the switches on the operation panel and the levers on the foot control.

    [19] Various Adjustments WARNING Before carrying out adjustment procedures, make sure the tray and its arm are safely positioned and will not hit any works or any objects nearby. >>Otherwise, there could have an accident resulting in injury or equipment damage due to the unit falling or tipping or due to unexpected swinging of the arm.
  • Page 36 2)Tilt to the Left or Right. The same four bolts are used for this. c b Horizontal Bolts a: Loosen the M10 bolts that hold the support in place. b: Loosening the horizontal and vertical angle adjustment bolts on the right (assistant’s side) will let the support tilt to the right.
  • Page 37 2. Over Arm Brake Adjustment Adjust the brake that controls the arm’s horizontal motion. Some of the screw holes are covered with a cap or seal. CHECK Remove these to make adjustment and then replace them. 1)Adjust Large Arm Shaft (support side) a: Loose the 5mm screw (2.5mm Allen wrench) shown in the illustration to the right.
  • Page 38 3.Operator’s Tray Level Adjustment 1)Remove the 5 screws on the back and sides then take off the tray. 1)Take off the tray 2)Slightly loosen the 4 hex socket screws in the center piece of the tray. 2)Hex socket screws        3)Set screw 3)Adjust the tray level with the 4mm set screws next to the screws loosen in the previous step.
  • Page 40 5. Light Arm Adjustment Adjust the movement of the light arm. 1)Adjust horizontal movement at the joint for the horizontal arm. Horizontal arm Turn the two set screws in the top of the light pole to adjust the movement. These screws act as both stoppers and brakes. ADVICE Tightening them too much could make the arm movement too stiff.
  • Page 41 6. Light Head Movement Adjust the movement of the light head. 1)Adjust Horizontal Movement Knuckle B a) Adjust the set screw on the side of knuckle B. The hex socket bolt on the top of the head hanger holds CHECK 1)Set screw the shaft on and fixed in place with an adhesive.
