Any waste cardboard or plastic should be flattened down and placed in the trash can. Unpacking the downturn Remove the downturn from the packaging.
- Page 3 Removing the downturn Cut the tape across the join so the markings remain on both countertops. Remove the downturn from its position and place it on a stable work surface. The position of the dowel holes will depend on the thickness of the downturn selected. Mark the position at a depth that is half of the downturn thickness.
- Page 4 Drilling the dowel holes At the points marked, drill a dowel hole 11/16” deep on both the downturn and the countertop. Inserting the wooden dowels Using a small amount of glue, insert the wooden dowels into the dowel holes on the downturn and gently tap them in.
- Page 5 Inserting the downturn Angle the downturn under the countertop, aligning the dowels with the holes on the countertop, push the downturn up and insert the dowels into the holes. The lines drawn previously should align exactly, ensure the downturn is level and flush with the countertop.
